Camino de la Esperanza

Located on Camino de la Esperanza in Valladolid, it is a residential project with a complex urban planning, Master Plan street alignments were a challenge to materialize the project and at the same time an opportunity to a suggestive housing intervention.

The building project is divided into two main interventions, an underground intervention, carried out using screens for the conditions of the terrain and an aerial intervention. Both interventions are linked by a vertical communication element, the elevator shaft.

In the underground intervention, 100% of the surface of the plot is used, making two levels for parking and storage rooms. The garage project works with the ramp as a communication element between levels and the elevator shaft as a vertical communication nucleus to connect with the houses.

In the aerial intervention, the houses are organized as pieces of a horizontal Tetris that manage to take advantage of the meters of façade and roof. The Attic is understood as the crowning piece, which is why it receives a different treatment.

The tectonics of the project are studied from the local perspective, always choosing materials that are in tune with the environment. The brick factory, widely used in the residential architecture of Valladolid, allows a variety of placement games allowing a play in the interaction of volumes. Zinc provides continuity to the crowning element and establishes a dialogue with the design of the locksmith.
